Hey all!! I’m Christina, a third-year student studying Art History and Anthropology. I’ll be this year’s Art History and Museum Studies track representative. My love for this track runs deep and I’m always happy to talk about anything Art History related. Please reach out with any questions! This could be about how to choose which class to take, or brainstorming topics for essays!! Looking forward 🙂

Hi, I’m Andrei. Well, officially born as Andrei, unofficially nicknamed Andrè (because why not add a little flair?). I’m a second-year interdomain major (SCI-HUM) student and your new Track Representative for Linguistics. My major blends Cognitive Neuroscience and Linguistics, with electives ranging from Literature and Anthropology to Programming and Rhetoric (basically, if a course has language in it, I’m in!). Perhaps my great interest is cognitive linguistics, as I find it the most dazzling, but sociolinguistics and pragmatics are what helps me ground this interest in the world around me. I’m fascinated by how our brains seek order, often forcing new information into familiar patterns, be it helpful or not. This tendency shows up in everything from political narratives to your last awkward text and to this very introduction you’re reading!
This year, I’ll be around campus doing what I do best: nerding out over syntax trees, minimal pairs, and mimicking odd IPA sounds in class. I’m here to help you navigate the Linguistics track, decode those deceptively long intro assignments, and maybe even convince your parents that this is a real degree (and real science too!).
Questions? Ideas? Existential thoughts about morphemes? Email me or just stop me for a chat. I promise I’m friendlier than your keyboard autocorrect function (linguistics is not even about that).

Bence Bognár

Hi everyone! I’m Bence, a third year studying literature, media studies, and political science, and I’ll be your track representative for literature this year! I’ll be working with UCSC and Dr. Sebastiaan van Bommel to keep the track in order, and to make it as high-quality and fun for you all as possible. I’ve taken (and liked) most courses in the track already, so don’t be afraid to send me any questions you may have. Also, please give me as much feedback and as many suggestions as possible: after all, it’s you all who can help us the most in improving literature at UCU! I’ve enjoyed it immensely, and I hope you will, too (don’t be shy to make it your major, either 😁).

Jano Tierney

Hello! I’m Jano, and I will be the philosophy track representative for this coming year. I am in my fifth semester and doing a science-humaninites interdomain major. As is evident in my major choice, I strongly believe that philosophy is a vital part of anyone’s education, regardless of their career aspirations. Philosophy is present in our ideologies and beliefs. Studying philosophy can help us to identify patterns in our own thinking and communicate complex ideas of all sorts. I aim to help develop and maintain this track throughout the year, and I am always happy to discuss anything about it!
